Step 1
Back up the world you cannot afford to lose
- Open the world's settings and use Export or copy/duplicate if your device shows those controls. That copy is the rollback if an Add-On or template misbehaves.
- If the world is on a Realm, download it from Realm settings before you upload a replacement. Minecraft.net's change Realm world page says to download first and not to rely on Realm backups indefinitely.
- Keep the export somewhere you control (another folder, USB, cloud drive you already use). This site does not store your saves.
- Write down which packs are already on the world. After a failed experiment you will want to know whether the damage was the Add-On, cheats, or a version bump.
- Do not treat a leftover Marketplace file on disk as a license. Official Pass FAQ copy: you may still need to subscribe or buy to keep using catalog items while playing.
Windows owners sometimes copy the Bedrock worlds folder from the Minecraft UWP package. Menu labels move; if Export exists, use it first. We did not audit every device's storage UI on 28 August 2026.
